Tasting Notes

91   2008  Dashe  Late Harvest Zinfandel  Dry Creek Valley   9/23/11 ($25-375mL)

  12% residual sugar     14.1% alc
Color: Deep black garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Dried figs and black plums with excellent acidity and some cedary oak. (3.0) Body: Excellent fruit and acidity. A light heavyweight with a rich, viscous mouthfeel. (3.0) Flavor: Delicious with more freshness than the bouquet. (3.5) Finish: More restrained with more spice, but less distinctive fruit. (3.0)
Overall: This is an excellent red dessert wine that is balanced and concentrated without heat or too much ripeness. Drinking well now, but could improve in the next 5+ years. (15.5)
