91   2008   Dashe   Dry Creek Valley  Zinfandel   3/16/11 ($22)

  14.5% alc
Color: Deep purple garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Rich black cherry, blueberry and boysenberry fruit with briary spice in the background. Distinctive and particularly elegant for Dry Creek Valley. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight with excellent fruit and acidity. No tannin to speak of. A tangy, somewhat silky mouthfeel. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet with rich, distinctive fruit in the forefront and spice and herb complexity in the background. Delicious. (3.5) Finish: Parallels flavor, but a little less rich and interesting. Still smooth and delicious. (3.0)
Overall: An excellent, surprisingly elegant DCV Zin with distinctive black cherry, blueberry and boysenberry fruit. Also briar and herbs underneath. Delicious right now, but might get more interesting with a few years bottle age. Great value! (15.5)
