Tasting Note

92+  2007  Cumbre (Vine Hill)  Barrel 31 Pinot Noir  (St Cruz Mtns)   10/20/12 ($39)

14.2% alc
Color: Medium deep black cherry. (3.0) Bouquet: Cola, black cherry, vanilla extract and SCM spice and herb nuances. (3.0) Body: Excellent fruit and acidity with a rich, concentrated mouthfeel. A heavyweight that's very well balanced. (3.5) Flavor: The fruit explodes here, being rich, concentrated and delicious. (3.5) Finish: Parallels flavor with some youthful acidity and a hint of heat giving a little austerity. Long. (3.0)
Overall: This is a delicious, fruit forward Pinot Noir with fine Santa Cruz Mtns character. Cola, black cherry and vanilla fruit with subtle baking spice and herb nuances. Concentrated with ripeness and power, but also shows SCM restraint and balance. Delicious now, but could improve in the next 2-5 years. (16.0)
