Tasting Note

91+  2009 Francois Chidaine  Le Bouchet  Vouvray   11/18/11 ($27)

100%CheninBlanc   13.5% alc
Color: Bright gold. (3.0) Bouquet:Yellow flowers, pollen, minerals and beeswax. (3.0) Body: Light Heavyweight with excellent fruit and acidity. Nice viscosity in the mouth, but not heavy. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet with a fresh lime nuance. (3.5) Finish: Parallels flavor with a subtle lime-like bitterness. (3.0)
Overall: An interesting Vouvray that is off-dry with excellent tart acidity keeping it balanced. Shows a variety of nuances from beeswax and yellow flowers to minerals and fresh lime juice. Probably best with food at present, but should improve with 4-6 years bottle age. As good as their drier Vouvray (Argiles) from this vintage, but slightly more backward. (15.5)
