Color: Very deep garnet. (3.5) Bouquet: Concentrated wild blackberry and boysenberry fruit, black licorice and subtle incense. Very lively and precise. (3.5) Body: Light heavyweight with impressive flavor concentration and balance. Silky/ tangy mouthfeel. (3.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but even more expressive with more anise and mocha nuances complementing the fruit. Delicious! (3.5) Finish: Very long, interesting and tasty. (3.5)
Overall: Smooth, interesting and delicious. This has the elegance of a cool climate Syrah, but the fruit concentration expected from a top notch CA Syrah. Very well balanced and light on its feet for the amount of flavor intensity and weight it possesses. Very Impressive! (17.5)
