Color: Deep garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Sweet cassis, black ink and pencil shavings with a little tar. Rich and elegant. (3.5) Body: Middleweight with excellent fruit and very good smooth tannins and acidity. Silky mouthfeel. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but not quite as rich. Easy to drink. (3.0) Finish: Parallels bouquet. Long and aromatic. (3.0)
Overall: An excellent 5th growth Medoc that is ready to drink. Much better than the last time I tasted it, 6/07, and even better than I thought it might turn out to be. It shows sweet cassis and black ink with pencil shavings and elegant terroir. It is also well balanced with very good structure and a silky mouthfeel. Drink now and in the next two years.(15.5)
