Tasting Note

88+   2010  Domaine de Cambis  Caudomato  (Saint-Chinian)   12/5/14 ($15)

40% Carignan, 40% Grenache, 20% Syrah  14% alc
Color: Medium black cherry to garnet with slight brown tint at rim. (3.0) Bouquet: Black raspberry and blueberry with minerals and elegant anise and forestal nuances. (3.0) Body: Middleweight with excellent minerality, acidity and VG fruit. Tangy mouthfeel. (2.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but not quite as interesting. (3.0) Finish: Does echo the flavor, restrained at present. (2.5)
Overall: Shows excellent minerality and acidity with interesting forestal terroir. The black raspberry fruit is tasty, but could have more concentration. An elegant expression of Southern France. Could improve with 1-2 years bottle age. Very good value. (14)
