Tasting Notes

90   2009  Jean-Paul Brun  Terres Dorées  Fleurie   10/1/10 $22

Color: Deep purple grape juice. (3.0) Bouquet: Animal fur, game and black pepper compliment rich blackberry fruit with elegance. (3.0) Body: Light heavyweight with excellent fruit and acidity. Rich, somewhat silky mouthfeel that coats. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet step for step. (3.0) Finish: Parallels flavor. Long and smooth with some tart acidity and even a little tannin intertwined with game and black licorice. (3.0)
Overall: Excellent, showing gamy complexity and rich blackberry fruit in a full-bodied style, but still displays the elegance of Fleurie. Tastes like a cross between a Crozes-Hermitage and a red Burgundy. (15.0)
