Tasting Note

88    2004 David Bruce Central Coast Petite Sirah      1/5/07 ($20)

Color: Deep purple-black garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Rich framboise with aromatic, youthful acidity (Beaujolais-esque). (3.0) Body: Good (not great) fruit with excellent acidity and just enough tannin and oak. (3.0) Flavor: Acidity with decent framboise fruit, but not nearly as open as the bouquet. (2.0) Finish: Parallels bouquet step-for-step with good length. (3.0)
Overall: Rich and well balanced. Good quality, but not particularly ageworthy (2-3 yrs) and could be more racy and/or concentrated, but still tasty. (14.0)
