Tasting Note

91+   2010  C & P Breton  Bourgueil Les Galichets (Loire)   11/22/12 ($25)

 100% Cabernet Franc   12% alc
Color: Deep purple ruby. (3.0) Bouquet: Elegant red pepper complements tart cherry and black raspberry with a smoky nuance. Very expressive. (3.5) Body: Solid middleweight with a tangy mouthfeel. Excellent acidity, fruit and smooth tannins. (3.0) Flavor: Tart cherry and raspberry are prodominant here. (3.0) Finish: Long with elegant chalky minerality. (3.0)
Overall: More expressive, more full-bodied, more ageworthy, more of everything compared to their restrained Chinon. It is young, needing 3-5 years of bottle age to be at its best, but the tart cherry and black raspberry fruit with nuances of red pepper and smoke is already compelling. (15.5)
