Tasting Note

91  2002  Henri Boillot  Puligny-Montrachet  12/24/09 ($43)

  13% alc
Color: Medium gold. Looks ready. (3.0) Bouquet: Menthol and baked apple with excellent minerality. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight with excellent minerality and very good acidity, fruit and secondary nuances. Well balanced and easy-to-drink. Minerals coat the mouth somewhat. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but baked apple infused with elegant minerals takes it up a notch. (3.5) Finish: Parallels bouquet with interesting menthol flavors returning. (3.0)
Overall: An elegant, complex Puligny with excellent character for the appellation. If it had more concentration, it would drink like a 1er Cru. Classic Puligny that is ready to drink now and in the next 2 years. (15.5)
