Color: Dark brick red to garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Stewed and dried tart cherries and baking spices. Expressive aromatics similar to Nebbiolo. (3.0) Body: Very good fruit and tannic structure, but a little disjointed with astringency. Solid middleweight. (2.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but shows bitterness from oak. (2.5) Finish: Even more bitterness here with tannin lingering. (2.0)
Overall: Very good quality Aglianico for the price, but a bit too much oak gets in the way of its charm. (13)
