Color: Very deep black garnet. (3.5) Bouquet: Dried black plums and dried black raspberries combined with subtle nuances of tar and cooking herbs. Restrained (3.0) Body: An elegant light heavyweight with outstanding viscosity, concentrated fruit and excellent acidity. (3.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but more lively, distinctive and delicious. (3.5) Finish: Parallels flavor. Delicious. (3.5)
Overall: A great dessert wine with outstanding dried plum and dried black raspberry fruit. The bouquet is a little restrained, but the flavors in the mouth and finish are lively and distinctive. Best drunk as a slowly savored dessert, also goes well with Gorgonzola Dolce. At its best now (open and decant a few hours before serving) and in the next 5 years. (17)
