Tasting Note

91 2002 Archery Summit Premier Cuvee 4/9/05 ($27)

Color: Medium Burgundy robe with some purple. (3.0) Bouquet: Sweet cola fruit with black truffles, also light cedar and spice. (3.0) Body: Very good acidity and smooth supporting tannins, uplifted by fruit. A solid middleweight. (3.0) Flavor: Delicious vanilla coke fruit with tart raspberry thrown in. The fruit tastes like a candy apple when first opened, but loses this candied quality and improves with air. Also black truffle complexity underneath. (3.5) Finish: Parallels flavor, but lighter. Still shows length and is tasty. (3.0)
Overall: An excellent P.N. that should be totally ready in a year or two. If you let it breath for 1-2 hours, it becomes sweet and delicious even now. (15.5)
